GRUB Stretford Offically Opens This Weekend
GRUB Stretford will officially open its doors on Saturday 20 June from 12pm, bringing a brand-new independent food, drink and events destination to the heart of Stretford town centre.
Loungers have announced plans to open a bespoke café and bar “Fosforo Lounge” on King Street in Stretford town centre.
Loungers is set to offer a ‘home away from home’ with quality all day dining, a warm and welcoming atmosphere and unique, relaxed interiors. A mixture of pub, cafe bar and restaurant, Loungers are built on friendly service, quality ingredients and the venue provides a hub for the community. Known for its large and diverse menu that takes in brunch, lunch, dinner, coffee, cake and cocktails, the Stretford Fosforo Lounge will bring fun, social and family-friendly dining to the neighbourhood. It will create around 30 local jobs in the area.
The new Loungers will be situated at 8 Pinnington Lane.
There are now over 300 Loungers across the country but no two venues are the same. Like all Loungers, the Stretford site on King Street will have its own individual identity and be tailored distinctively for Stretford. It is due to open in Autumn 2026.
A spokesperson from Loungers commented:

Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, added:
“It is great news that Loungers are going to open on the new King Street in the heart of Stretford. Trafford Council, along with our partner Bruntwood, are proud of the work we have carried out in the town centre. It looks amazing and Loungers are a superb brand to bring on board.”
Home to a range of independent and national brands Stretford town centre comprises the newly opened King Street, Pinnington Lane and Sir Tony Lloyd Square, a brand new public realm, which is firmly establishing itself as a thriving hub of community activity, events and entertainment.
The transformation of King Street is part of Bruntwood and Trafford Council’s town centre masterplan. The newly restored King Street will provide a thriving high street, with a mix of shops and services, hospitality and spaces for the community. More details of the retailers set to open on the high street will be announced in the coming weeks.
