Makers Market Stretford | Sunday 3rd May, 11-4pm
The Makers Market returns to take over Stretford town centre on Sunday 3rd May, 11-4pm. Head over for a day filled with local traders, entertainment and community atmosphere.
Over Easter weekend we will be hosting our next community commission at the Unofficial Museum: What Wide Sea Brought Me Here ⛵
Through a series of drop-in workshops, you're invited to create small origami boats - each one carrying a personal story about how you came to be part of this community. For some, the journey may be short: born and raised here. For others, it may be a much longer journey that eventually led them to Stretford.
In the simple act of folding paper boats and sharing stories, you will contribute to a growing interactive artwork. Each boat becomes part of a collective exhibition - a reflection of the many different journeys that shape our community.
Sessions take place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th April from 1-3pm - you're welcome to drop in as you wish.
Join us to take part, share a story, and help build this collaborative piece.

Next up in Stretford's Unofficial Museum we have an exhibition all about the M60, and how it impacts our local communities. At its heart, this exhibition invites people to pause and reconsider the urban spaces they usually move through without a second thought.
This exhibition looks back at Nite School's absolutely iconic era 2025 the mall - the nights that turned a closed down pawnbrokers into a dancefloor and injected new levels into Stretford’s nightlife. And that’s including the legendary Boots rave with Bicep.
