Round three of the Unofficial Stretford Museum is here, with our first commission celebrating some of Stretford’s quieter neighbours: its trees.
The Street Trees of Stretford by Severine Cochard celebrates 10 notable trees across the town, each with its own character, story and place in Stretford. From parks and streets to private front gardens, these trees are part of what makes Stretford feel like Stretford.
Visit the museum to see a window display of the trees and find out more about them. Then pick up a trail map from The Mezz entrance (26 King Street), head out and find the trees for yourself.
All 10 can be viewed from public spaces, with What3Words locations provided to help you find them.
Take a wander, look a little closer at the streets you know, and see if you can spot one you’ve walked past a hundred times without really noticing. You might even find a new favourite tree along the way.
The window display and trail will be on from 3rd-8th October.
