Stretford Christmas Light Switch On | Saturday 14th November
Stretford Town Centre is kicking off the festive season on Saturday 14th November with its Christmas lights switch-on and an afternoon and evening of festive fun.
Coming up to The Unofficial Stretford Museum is Dwelling, an exhibition by local printmaker, Martin.
Martin’s woodcut and etching prints are inspired by everyday life, capturing the people, places and little moments he comes across in and around Stretford.
Alongside the exhibition, Martin will be opening up his printmaking process with informal drop-in workshops on 21st and 23rd October. You’ll be able to have a go yourself using simple paper cuts and a printing press, while Martin works alongside you and creates some new pieces of his own.
Each person will make two prints - one to take home and one to add to the exhibition wall, creating a collective piece of work as the week goes on.
Come along, have a go and see what you can make!
Find the display and workshops in The Unofficial Stretford Museum on King Street (just opposite Greggs). Open from 20th to 25th October, 10am till 4pm with workshops on Wednesday 21st & Friday 23rd.

Words To Die By is a collection of those poems. It’s a record of still being here, still making things and finding meaning in the ordinary, even while living with a terminal diagnosis.
