Nite School, Manchester’s long-standing club event series and creative collective, has announced the launch of its first ever pop-up broadcast arm — Nite School Radio — in Stretford town centre from 24th May, transforming a former pawnbrokers unit into a thriving hub of music, community stories and independent creativity.
Led by DJs Aural-B (Callum Parton) and Richie NS (Richie Ferguson), founders of Manchester’s long-standing club event series Nite School, Nite School Radio will bring its first ever livestream pop-up radio station to the heart of Stretford, creating a unique space for celebrating local creative talent, emerging artists and community voices alike.
Visitors to Nite School Radio can expect:
- Livestreamed DJ sets featuring local talent and special guests. These will be broadcast across the Nite School website, streaming platforms and social media
- Music culture and community-led shows, interviews and talks featuring local artists and creative community groups and capturing voices, characters and stories from across Stretford
- Pop-up retail offering limited-edition merch, vinyl, artwork and small maker collaborations
- After-hours Nite School club events complete with special guest DJs and unannounced curveballs
- Drop-in DJ workshops and development sessions for local artists and underrepresented groups
Nite School will be hosting the pop-up’s official launch party in Stretford town centre on Saturday 24th May 2025 from 7pm until 1am. Expect genre-spanning DJ sets, packed dancefloors, and the launch of Stretford’s most unlikely new nightlife venue.
Callum Parton (AKA Aural-B), DJ and Nite School co-founder said:
“I feel very lucky to call Stretford home - it is a wonderful community filled with creative voices and talent, which makes it the perfect place for Nite School Radio to launch its first pop-up. Transforming a former pawnbrokers into a creative broadcast studio is exactly the kind of plot twist I’d expect to pitch and get rejected. But here we are — Stretford’s getting a new hidden gem of nightlife, daylight radio, and community noise. Our time in this unit might be short, but the ambition isn’t. See you there (and don’t forget to bring us your jewellery…)”
Abby Barker, Events and Community Manager from Bruntwood added:
“Having the first ever Nite School Radio pop-up in Stretford town centre is a real coup for the town, and a fantastic addition for Stretford’s burgeoning DJ and music scene. It’s all about bringing people together and sparking creativity, whilst also breathing new life into an old space. We can’t wait for it to launch and showcase the amazing talent that it will shine a light on in the coming months.”
