Aldi car park planned improvement works
Now that the MSCP is back open, and to support Aldi long-term, we’re carrying out surface car park reconfiguration works from Monday 19 January for around 12 weeks.
Stretford town centre has announced a wave of national and local independent retailers set to join the regenerated town centre over the next three months. Holland & Barrett will open its new store on King Street on 20th January followed by Specsavers on 14th February and, brand new to the town centre, Harry’s Pharmacy will open a community health hub on Chester Road at the end of February.
Stretford beauty business Ebonies will open in The Mezzanine, a brand new first floor parade of service led businesses, on King Street in January. They will offer hair and beauty supplies, specialising on hair extensions, wigs and braiding hair.
The newly refurbished multi story car park will also be open from 19th January with 260 spaces (13 DDA) over two floors with the entrance off the new roundabout on Kingsway.
Holland & Barrett will continue to offer the same wide variety of health and wellness products as they open their doors to welcome customers to their new location. Specsavers services include comprehensive eye care, contact lens service and specialist hearing services and are open to existing and new customers.
The new Harry’s Pharmacy will provide a brand new health hub for the community, offering a wide range of services including traditional and essential pharmacy services, a blister-pack service for vulnerable patients, as well as vaccinations and weight loss clinics, and many other private services to follow. The new pharmacy and community health hub will focus on providing accessible medical and wellbeing services and support in the centre of Stretford. Visitors can collect prescriptions and browse a range of health and wellbeing products, which the pharmacy will review and amend based on the needs of its customers. The Harry’s Pharmacy team will also offer travel and regular vaccinations, weight loss clinics, ear-wax removal and health related clinics.
The new businesses on King Street will be joining Fountain Records, Costa Coffee, Greggs, Home Bargains, Card Factory which are all open now and the new ‘Northern Light’ cinema which is set to open in March.
Chris Houghton, Head of Retail & Leisure at Bruntwood, added:
“The town centre is really taking shape with the opening of the businesses across King Street and Chester Road. Harry’s Pharmacy will make a fantastic addition to Stretford town centre, offering valuable services and a vital point of contact for wellbeing support and advice. The opening of Specsavers and Holland & Barrett will further bolster the offering on King Street, enhanced by addition of the much-loved local business Ebonies.”
Harish Deepak, Director and Superintendent Pharmacist at Harry’s Pharmacy, said:
“We’re proud to announce the opening of our new store in the town centre as we prepare to celebrate our ten year anniversary of serving the wonderful Stretford community. As an independent pharmacy, we are focused on providing the best possible service to customers, helping members of the community with everything from prescriptions and vaccinations to advice or a general chat. Our new home gives us the space to innovate, expand our NHS and private services and introduce new healthcare solutions to improve access for everyone. We look forward to welcoming customers through our doors for many more years to come!”
Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, said: “We are delighted to welcome more retailers and services, both well-loved national brands and local independents, to the new-look Stretford town centre. The town's shopping and leisure scene is certainly going from strength to strength, thanks to our growing business community in the area, supported by strong partnership working between Bruntwood and the Council.”
