Major Milestone Reached For Stretford Town Centre as King Street Opens to the Public
Stretford is celebrating the opening of its brand new high street, marking a major milestone in its ambitious masterplan to revitalise the town centre.
From Monday 11th March, the multi-storey car park in Stretford will close as part of the ongoing redevelopment of the town centre. These works aim to enhance the security, accessibility, and overall safety of the existing car park, providing a much-needed upgrade for the community.
In consideration of our valued visitors, we've taken steps to ensure ample parking remains available throughout the renovation. A new car park is currently being created in the hoarded area between the Chester Road entrance and St Matthew's Church, providing convenient options for those in need of parking facilities.
To streamline the process for everyone, the new car park will operate from Monday to Saturday, 7am to 7pm, and on Sundays from 9am to 4:30pm. While we anticipate a smooth transition, we recommend allowing a bit of extra time during your initial visit to navigate the updated system seamlessly.

There has been a lot of progress behind the hoarding this month as we head towards opening the new high street and public square later this year. Significant advancements have been made in facade and roofing works to bring the (soon to be!) retail units to life.
Here is an update of the works that have taken place since our last Stretford town centre development update at the end of last year.
