The Street Trees of Stretford

This exhibit dives into the history of the Stretford Children’s Theatre, which has nurtured local talent since its founding in 1945. It will highlight the group's rich legacy and its ongoing mission to enrich the wider community through accessible performing arts sessions and high-quality public productions.

Words To Die By 

17th & 18th October | By Jamie Kehoe,  the Glio Poet

In November 2024, Jamie was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour and one of the lesser talked about symptoms is brain fog. The kind that makes it hard to follow complex narratives, making his career as a screenwriter increasingly difficult. But his creative impulse didn’t disappear. It changed shape, emerging through shorter bursts, fragments and moments. Poetry made sense in a way it never quite had before. This exhibition explores creativity, identity and finding meaning in everyday life while living with a terminal diagnosis.

Dwelling

20th - 25th October | By Martin Kochany

This series of woodcut and etching prints captures artist Martin’s observations of everyday life, documenting the people and moments he encounters in and around Stretford. Exploring themes of gathering and community, Martin will also host 1-2-1 printmaking workshops giving you the opportunity to dive into the printing process through a dedicated conversational style.

Stretford's Unofficial Natural History Museum

3rd November - 8th November | By EllaJo Studio

See the museum transform into an artist-made cabinet of curiosities dedicated to Stretford's ordinary wildlife through illustrations, paintings and displays. You’ll be invited to share your own local wildlife sightings to create an evolving, Stretford made record of the town’s ecology.

The Manchester Art Treasures Exhibition remains one of the largest exhibitions of artwork of all time, taking place in Trafford in 1857. Celebrating Stretford’s rich cultural history and identity, MATE brings this significant moment to life, welcoming art lovers of all kinds and making art history accessible.

The FOMO Show + Q&A with Creative Professionals and Buddhist Practitioners

19th November | By Skye Lilly

This interdisciplinary project uses Stretford’s evolving history as a foundation to explore themes of transformation, identity, and belonging. Through an audio-visual, immersive environment, the installation will collage the bridges of Stretford’s industrial past with new perspectives and fragments of its future, alongside selected works from Jack’s own experimentation with immersive digital media over the past year.

25th November-2nd december | By jack Jameson

This project explores transformation, identity and belonging through Stretford’s evolving history. The multimedia installation creates a visual-audio collage, bridging its industrial past with new perspectives and fragments of its future, alongside selected works from Jack’s digital media experimentation over the past year.
