Ways Of Seeing | A Living Archive Of Expression & Wellbeing | 29th-31st August | The Unofficial Stretford Museum

Join artist Wingyu Yeung at The Unofficial Stretford Museum for Ways of Seeing, a free community art project exploring the different ways we notice, experience and connect with Stretford.

This relaxed drop-in workshop invites you to slow down, look a little closer and get creative. Whether you’re a keen artist or haven’t picked up a pencil in years, there’s no experience needed and you can join in at any point throughout the session.

You can take part in a self-guided sketch walk around Stretford, using simple prompts to notice the colours, textures, places and everyday details that make the town special. Or, if you’d rather stay at the museum, you can create directly from your own memories, feelings and imagination.

Back at the museum, turn what you’ve noticed into your own creative response through drawing, collage, simple zine-making or portrait activities. You’ll also have the chance to add your work to the community drawing wall - a growing collective artwork made up of different perspectives and experiences of Stretford.

You can choose to display your creation as part of the exhibition or take it home with you.

The Ways of Seeing exhibition will continue from 29-31 August, featuring work by Wingyu, local students and community participants, alongside contributions to the community drawing wall.

The sketch walk is 11:30am–1:30pm on Saturday 29th August. If you'd like to take part in the sketch walk please reserve a free space hereAll other activities you can drop in.
