As part of National Cream Tea Day, organised by Rodda’s Cornish Clotted Cream and Wilkin and Sons Tiptree, we’re bringing this delicious Charity Cream Tea event to Stretford Socials. Sit down with us and enjoy a cream tea for £7 or take away a cream scone for £4. All donations will go to The Little Green Sock Project who work to help reduce the financial burden of clothing for families in need, by reusing and gifting clothing and children’s items donated by our local community, whilst creating a positive change in behaviour towards a more circular economy.
The Little Green Sock Project team is made up of a dedicated group of local people who strongly believe, as do we, that all children should have the basics they need to thrive. Not only this, the work also helps to protect the environment, to protect our children’s future, with the very nature of this project promoting sustainability and creating a positive culture shift towards reuse and recycling perfectly good clothes and children’s items
You can get your pre or post-tea fill from all our usual local traders, too. From crafts and art to gifts and food, there will be a whole host of stalls to explore. And this month it's a first for Urban Meadows Pottery who will be selling their one-of-a-kind ceramic homeware. Created in the home studio of owner Stacey, she combines her love of plants and nature with her passion for clay, using stoneware to carefully craft decorative pots with a purpose.
